Been that way since the 80’s. Also another notable Caribbean ethnicity would probably be Haitians. A lot of them had to illegally cross the Mexico-US border unfortunately.
I think Boston Seattle and Minnesota will be the next areas with majority black immigrants in the coming decades
America don't really accept somalis anymore they mostly accept non refugees now, which sadly most somalis aren't back home, so unless the educated wealthy somalis decide to immigrate there you won't see a surge of somalis in America.
That’s true trump pretty much ended major Somali immigration to America I think educated Somalis from Kenya might immigrate to America in the future there’s a lot of educated qualified Somalis in kenya but it’s a wrap for Somali refugees
I'm glad no more somali refugees they don't accept because let's be real they're going to fighter tarnish our name and ruin any state they touch obviously not all but.... I would love to see educated somalis from Kenya move to America but I doubt since not even native Kenyans leave their country.
in NYC it's mainly west indians and francophones no east africans
Some Sudanese and small number of Eritreans live in nyc there pretty much the only East Africans in that area dc and Atlanta are filled with east Africans though mainly habesha but decent number of Somalis in both
Some habeshas did say there's barely any in nyc although there's some in the metro area (new jersey). Yes few Somalis in dmv the metro area of dc not dc itself, but sadly our numbers are small same with atl, waaaaay more habeshas and even sudanese smh.
Stop the cap Somalis in minisota are doing just fine. A lot of them move out ceder and get homes in the nice suburbs. There also a lot of graduates and it’s only going to increase inshallah.
