It won't help, we have thousands of somali engineers across the world yet everytime someone funds a project s hire their cousins and siphon money out of the project.

You need an educated populace which leads to long term planning and finally large scale development. Somalia has a 37% literacy rate, you can't effectively communicate with a person who can't even read&write. The knowledge space is so limited that any large scale plans won't work.

We should independently do what china did and form a diaspora city state.

Diasporas born in the west and raised there are fundamentally different to native Somalis. The native Somali is more sexist, radically religious, violent and tribalist by nature of being born in that environment.

Meanwhile people born in the west have a different life view, one based on development , peace and stability . Its not innate but rather due to their environment, for instance collective punishment is seen as bad in our eyes yet justified in the native Somalis eyes.

We have already seen the effects of education in Somalia. Regions with higher education like Somaliland and Puntland are already surpassing Southern Somalia. Yet they are still limited by tribalism due to their leaders and a 50% illiteracy rate.

A diaspora city state with only 50K people would be the most advanced region in Somalia. They would also arguably be more productive. I will relay my ideas to my fellow diasporans when i got back.

Sxb it sounds all nice and fun. but i guarantee you if diaspora build a city in somalia. The natives will get jealous and they will destroy it and loot it. So thats not gonna work. The only option is to spend more money on education
