Russia’s population=144m. It’s GDP=1.7T
Italy population = 60m. It’s “Struggling” GDP =2T.
Russia is joke. I doubt it’s has real enemies besides Ukraine.

GDP or GDP per capita is relative. Living expenses in Russia are much lower than Russia's.

This is also considering their monetary situation.

Italy has more access to the global credit market and it's economy is artificially bloated by debt (debt to gdp at over 130% compared to Russia's 18%)

Russia does have enemies because of it's own doings. They're expansionist by nature due to their geographical location.

At the same time there's internal pressures that comes with being so large. Too many domestic interests which are weaknesses that foreign powers have always taken advantage of.

Russia is a complicated mess but at least they have a competent leader. The rot in Russia is with the local politicians.

If the protestors were genuine they'd go after them instead of Putin which only foreign powers want gone.
