its not about being turned on its about the cultural views around modesty, being loud and shouting and laughing loud in public as a women would be seen as bad character for her in that culture.
but i think it goes both ways, cos one time i was at an arab restaurant waiting by a table for a man to leave so we could sit down, then 2 arabs girls come and when we are sat down the man starts telling us in arabic to get up and out of the seats, im thinking maybe its his family and he was waiting for them so we get out of the seats and then the girls sit down and the guy just goes. So i'm assuming just because they were women waiting for a table they get preferential treatment over men even if we were waiting for 20mins.
