Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, the white and attractive town located on the western shore of the Indian Ocean, is still the subject of erudite research and study to establish what part it has had in the historical events that have taken place over the centuries.

Since ancient times, scholars have worked with love and zeal to collect information and draw inductions for a less obscure and confused knowledge of the town.

The legend of Mogadishu, although not resistant to positive criticism, has a notable meaning and value as it does not represent, like legends in general, the almost exclusive product of the fervent and unbridled imagination of primitive peoples, but is often supported by memories of things material and historical facts such as to bring it largely closer to the exact history of the time.

The most authoritative religious people of Mogadishu say that, according to the oral tradition handed down, one night the Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم appeared in a dream to Hill, the presumed founder of the Somalis, a venerated Saint, and recommended him to settle in the place where the ruins currently exist of Xamar Jajab (destroyed Xamar/Xamar in ruins).

Mogadishu being the capital of Somalia is the center of the culture, history and folklore of the Somali people. The story tradition of the foundation of Mogadishu is similar to that of Rome and San'a two ancient cities which are central to the tradition of their respective people.

Sana'a is said to have been founded by Shem bin Nouh the progenitor of the Semites(the inhabitants of Yemen & Arabia), while most of you know the history of Rome.

Mogadishu's success, prosperity and diversity was wholly linked to it's strategic position that is to say it's close proximity to the agricultural rich interior on wabiga shabeellaha and along the coast close the maritime trade rout.

Traders from the interior would come to mogadishu and even caravans from the deep interior would also arrive at mogadishu for trade. One famous rout would be from berbera to mogadishu which would take approximately 40 days. People from various background would meet and coalesce their in the hassling and bustling markets bargaining and bartering with locals and foreigners traders from as far field as india persia and arabia.

Evidently the very same reason that prompted mogadishus success that is to say it's close proximity to the shabelle river is also what helped grow ports south of mogadishu such as merca and barawe while north of mogadishu far from the webi didn't have a port as large as these ones. Al-idrisi and ibn sa'id also mentioned the webi and the cultivation of grains in the interior and ibn batutta talked about banana and mango or in language of these who live on the coast cambe.

Mogadishu was a centre for trade but also an islamic centre well know throughout the islamic world. Port cites as a rule of thumb are diverse with people of various background living side by side together.

This is a blow to the head for the cadcad wannabe Shiikhaal @Banadiri Warrior who for the last two months was peddling lies against the natives of Mogadishu, citing the oral traditions and Manuscripts of reer Xamar as a source. It seems both the written and oral sources of reer Xamar indicate a Somali(Samaale in the case of the oral traditions) origin of the town Mogadishu.

Sharif Aydurus says that the language of the people of Xamar Weyne is not Arabic
and The language of the people of Shangani is a mixture of between Arabic and the language of the people of Xamar Weyne 👇🏽

He is wrong. Reer Shingaani speak a pure Somali(Maa doonte), just different from the Maxaa tiri dialect spoken in Xamarweyne

Uh....Mogadishu is more older than you think. Before name of Mogadishu, there was Sarapion. Basically the area as what we've calling it as Mogadishu, used to be called as Sarapion.

Xamar is older than Hiil Abroone , not only that but Hiil Abroone and his descendants originally resided in their ancestral land Eastern Ethiopia

Cadcad isn't an identity, shiikhaal is a title not a clan, if you want to say my clan say it properly.

Manuscripts of Reer Xamars is what's used to understand history of xamar . Not a single oral source or manuscript mentions samaale. Even the gibil madow samaale's would laugh at this bizzare claim when they all claim their progenitors to have migrated from their respective clans land in interior.

Here's an example of a real manuscript mentioning Ximyari's being first inhabitants now show one mentioning Samaale

Arabic is spoken by Gibil Cad inhabitants of both Xamarweyne and Shingaani, it was the language for education and record, all manuscripts ,as you all see , were written in Arabic, anyone that was learnt which would be the vast majority spoke Arabic .

As for the local language then Af Maadoonte was spoken in both parts of Xamarweyne and Shingaani . With different variations amongst eachother.
