And this is a boat that looks like it was in the middle of being built but it looks like it was abandoned or something

Who said it's Mogadishu boats? All artifacts from Somalia were stored in the National Museum, these boats could be from Puntland.

How can you be so sure? A quick look at the source has given me different results. The 3 boats in the first picture
1. Is a reer Xamar fishing boat, so indeed from Mogadishu.
2. Large boat for fishing and traveling, it's used all over the coast of Somalia.
3. Bajuni fishing and travel boat.

My moms grandfather was born in that building he also owned a large dhow they would go out to sea with.
