I suggested this idea of security cameras especially around our city check-points to streghthen our external security and keep our internal security strong. Galkacyo needs one. Garowe and Bosaso. We need to place it strategically at the 'check-point' or 'custom' area. Why? We can have officers inside garowe, galkacyo, bosaso 'reviewing' video feed to ensure all vehicles are inspected following training standards, we can identify if our enemy enters from the outside or operates in the inside by checking camera feeds before attacks happen. It even keeps our officers honest who will be scared to do corruption if they know they are being recorded. So for such a little investment, the returns and benefits are tremendous.
But the most important thing is we need some sort of security 'surveillance' around populated areas to ensure if our enemy does strike, he won't strike at the heart of our people and will focus his attacks away from areas under surveillance. So you provide an extra securiy blanket to populated market areas, cafe, busy streets in our cities that they are being watched for suspicious activities 24/7 by Puntland control room.
Well guess what Mogadishu already began to do it for Maka Al Mukurammah. Now let's just give it 1 year time period and watch the attacks be directed away from where the cameras are. As Mogadishu people see this is returning benefits, they will expand it to wider Mogadishu. Mark my words.
