Mogadishu 10 years from now?

Dahab Tower and Dahab Marina in Mogadishu made me realise just 10 years from now you could be buying or renting affordable apartments or be booking rooms at Mogadishu hotels with views of the Indian Ocean, built all over the city, and with a vastly better security situation and a booming economy.

Tbh it's very beautiful especially when a masked man with small box on his chest give you a lovely hug :chrisfreshhah::drakelaugh:

My point was hypothetical things that could be done bro :ftw9nwa: Not things you could actually do on the ground

First thing they could do is access all of the prewar government studies and mayor office’s files on the future plans for Mogadishu (which was supposed to have been implemented during the 1990s and 2000s). They had an actual urban master plan with clear directives (example the uniform white look for the city’s buildings), zoning regulations, a grid system, and designated plans for future expansion of the city. Today’s FGS could then superimpose that old urban master plan on modern Mogadishu, hire a few world class architects and urban planners, and work from there to get everything organised properly, from the waterfront, to the inner city, to establishing a future CBD and incorporating the new satellite towns on the outskirts.

demolishing terrorist groups, poverty and crime is more important for Moqadishu than skyscrapers. Let's be serious.

Even in its current shocking state, I saw houses and apartments in Xamar going for hundreds of thousands-millions USD.

That sort of inequality is unsustainable in a country where per capital gdp is like $500.

Xamar will make Luanda look like a communist utopia at this rate.

Lets sort out city planning and city services before you start dreaming big. The most wild comparision too between miami and muqdisho. My friend, muqdisho has nothing going for it at all.

Moqadishu and Hargeisa needs ro fix their roads and pavements instead. Also fixing the drainage would be a good start. There's so much to sort out. But instead they'd rather fixate in accommodating to the rich and leave the poor to fend itself.

Yup, roads tie the city together. Roads also come with water, sewage and drainage plans aswell. Its sad, the entire country of somalia lacks this.

even nairobi has good city planning proper downtown, highway street. Somalia, forget about all that best we have italian relics and classic african apartment buildings.

THIS. All somali cities have inadequate roads for cars tk drive and pavements for people to walk. Their priority is in the wrong direction. Looo at this picture and show me where the pavements for people to walk or the traffic lights. It's a mess
