African cities have no economies of scale. It does not matter for the wellbeing of the residents whether the city has more or fewer people. As a matter of fact, the relationship between size and economic well being may be the inverse for Africa given the lack of sewerage, waste managment, traffic, etc.. These cities are just large villages.

Job opportunities? Somalia's unemployment problem is across the scale, Mogadishu especially. I'd argue the amount of IDP camps, AMISON assaulting young girls/killing civilians, risk of terror attacks & clan infighting would absolutely make it more conducive to have a higher quality life in Qardho, unlike the top elite and some diaspora, Xamar is hell for everyone else.

How can Qardho compete with state of the art infrastructure like Digfeer hospital or Hargeisa General Hospital where ajnabi doctors operate. Im not denying Qardho being far ahead of southern tuulos like my Cabudwaaq or even Kismaayo but comparing it Mogadishu is just hubris.

A bunch of small to medium towns is better than having a single big town, good because they do not exceed their capacity.

youre right. somalia doesnt have the urban planning capacity to make cities like europe (densely populated + hygenic + efficient inner city transportation). if a city becomes densely populated it becomes a qashinhole with minibuses.

both small and big towns are build exactly the same in Somalia, they both rely on septic systems, that are poorly designed and probably not maintained at all, the damage this does to the water is going to be greater in bigger towns than in the smaller towns.
As the towns will continue to grow without planning it will eventually result in a deadly plague.
