At the shambolic London 2017 Somalia Conference I listened to a young woman named Nasra Agil.
She even has a page dedicated to her on the edit and add yourself online encyclopedia, Wikipedia.
It said she is a civil engineer from Canada who opened the first 'dollar' shop in Mogadishu, Somalia.
What caught my attention was her narrative as a woman in business and her work in construction.
There she told the highly romanticed novel of her experience as a female in the construction sector and dealings thereof.
Keep in mind that she worked in Canada and the UAE.
She highlighted that the construction site workers were drooling over her and had sparkling eyes when she visited the site saying her clothes were not too much revealing but rather translucent!
This of course was part of the agenda for the Conference to have such impressionable woman to broadcast their so called experiences in a international conference.
Western educated folks such as Nasra not withhelding their negative Stories is not the problem but the folks they are narrating it to is!
Many of the old men listening and often those in politics are themselves perpatrators and often need alcohol and medication to help them sleep.
It is a well known fact that the UN workers and peace keepers are the worst sexual abusers especially of young girls in wartorn countries and here is Nasra crying to the foreign office and UN on her challenges as a woman in work in Somalia.
I call this misplaced feminsim and sophism which helps the masking of the real goals of the conference and sorry Nasra it is not you and the eyes of some construction workers wandering off in your direction which of course is not right.
