I don’t know about changing the system but I would like to see more attention to this problem.

Since you and I live in commonwealth countries, our legal system is quite similar. Preferably I would like to see legal experts examine this area of the law and see which alternative causes the least negative ramifications.

It’s been looked at and the only way is to reduce the burden of proof to get higher conviction rate. Do you support that?

That is very tricky territory because the idea should be to reduce to burden of proof but also make sure no one that is innocent gets jailed.

I think if it’s enough proof to win a civil suit then it should be enough for a sexual assault case.

Many people sue their attackers for damages as the burden for proof is lower.

You are right. But IMO they should up the burden of proof on civil cases. Instead of bringing criminal burden of proof down

I think the reason why burden of proof is lower on civil cases is because the main problem is fiscal loss. One can even get a suppression order to make sure no one ever knows they lost a civil case.

In general, there’s more at stake for everyone involved in a criminal case than a civil case.

There is also sympathy involved. A lot of times they give you atleast something during civil case as sympathy

People are falsely jailed for murder, it happens at alarming numbers.

However, you will find it next to impossible to find someone falsely jailed for sexual assault.

That’s because it’s next to impossible to convict anyways.
