I can't lie though it's crazy how many of these people back home are making tiktok videos and edits about this shit. While obviously its qabil motivated I cant help but wonder where this comes from.

They are unpaid rage baiters. Some make money like the ones in yurub but the ones back home are in it for the love of the game.

I’m a big supporter of Somalis creating their own separate online ecosystem with homegrown alternatives and gradually blocking off mainstream social media platforms back home.

It wouldn’t even be that difficult to do , we just need to build our own spaces for education, entertainment, and communication. That will solve it.

Thats a nice idea in theory but realistically i dont think it would come to fruition. Social media is a drug for people that aren't healthy enough to moderate its usage. It also dumbs down people's intellect and reduces their willpower making them more lazy. If the government or anyone with influence managed to turn off access to this drug there would be more scrutiny on what they're doing and mostly not doing.
