I'm the oldest, and yes, you're right the oldest have to lift most of the weight when it comes to house chores, home work, being responsible, being example, being the leader, being the protector.
Yeah y'all can keep all the attention also. When my parent walk in the house before they take a breath or even take off there shoes there yelling for the oldest to address what happened to who and when did what happen. The oldest are mostly the high achievers also they are militant about getting stuff done. that too much stress on me I couldn't do it
You don't have to let it define you though. Through self introspection you can gain skills you didn't have before and heal the parts of yourself that didn't get the care it needed.

As the eldest I envy the middle child. All the expectations and responsibilities I wish my parents held them to the same degree
