Michael Rubin who is a highly respected US politcian labels Farmajoo a complete falure. Yamamoto just resigned this week after gambling on Farmajoo and losing face. Michael paints Farmajoo as a dictator. He says Farmajoo is the nephew of former dictator Siad Barre who brought Somalia to ruin. He also points that the United States has funded and helped train Somalia’s new army, Farmajo has used it more against his political competitors than to fight the Al Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab.
Michael says that Farmajo controls or secures only a few square blocks in Mogadishu. Whilst Al-Shabaab taxes Somali residents and issues business licenses within sight of the Villa Somalia. The best part is that Michael shows that Farmajoo has links to terrorism by Fahad Yasin, Farmajo’s intelligence chief, maintains links with Islamist terrorist groups that, absent the American ambassador’s protection, should (and may under President Biden) earn him terror designation.
Michael Rubin predicts just like I have that Somalia might explode. He says that Farmajo’s legitimacy is gone Michael points out that militias such as the Abgaal and Habar Gidir are already prepared to march on the capital. He says that this will send Mogadishu back to the 1991 era.

Somalia May Not Survive State Department’s Support for Rigged Elections
