Mental illness in the Somali community

I don't think the mentally ill, or the disabled, are picked on out of hate or cruelty tbh; it's more a matter of ignorance, shame, and fear of the 'unknown'. Still unfortunate that it happens though.

I'm in med school right now and wallahi its for this reason that I'm considering specializing in psychiatry during my residency
