You may have heard that Somalia's PM received backlash recently for his speech relating to Gaza. It's because of UAE, main supporter of the current FGS

All in all, we have a long way to go before we can act independent

I think it wasn’t a permanent ban on girls going to school but they wanted to change the curriculum then let them go back. I don’t if they will follow through but that was their initial statement.

You're right it wasn't supposed to be permanent but it became that. These guy are warriors but it takes more than warriors to build a society. People over romanticized the cause and forgot to have a game plan for when they win.

Afghanistan, a battle hardened country would stomp Iran easily in a case of war.

Regardless, Afghanistan has the right to conserve water to meet the needs of its citizens.
There is no obligation to provide water to Iran when the country is facing drought, severe humanitarian crisis caused by a variety of issues such as decades of war, economic instability, migration, poverty, food and water shortages, health and natural disasters

It is somewhat ironic that Iran is demanding Afghanistan for water. At the same time, the country itself has diverted water from Iraq, which has caused drought and innumerable challenges.

Afghanistan has clearly self-sufficiency in agriculture/water at the top of it's national priority. Self-reliance and resilience is the key to remove the shackle of subservience and dependence on any foreign entity/international organizations.
