After the Allies defeated the Italians at Afmadow and the Juba river, the Italians no longer had a real army to resist invasion in the Somali lowlands and retreated their Italian units into Galbeed while their Somali units either deserted or went home. The British then captured most of South Somalia and most importantly the un-damaged city of Muqdisho.

The British Colonial forces did not pursue to capture anything past Hirshabelle, and immediately perused the Italians in Galbeed- defeating them in Harar and marching on Addis, ending WW2 in East Africa.

A segment of the Colonial forces then marched to Dooloow, blocking the Italian pocket in Galbeed/Oromia from breaking out, using the tributary of the Juba to defend their new acquisition.

The forces involved were the 24th Gold Coast brigade, from Ghana. The 2nd East African Brigade, from Kenya, and the 1st South African brigade, from South Africa.

Italian forces involved were the Italian African Police, 101 Divisione Somala, 102 Divisone Somala, and the Royal Corps of Somali Colonial Troops.

There were nowhere near that many Somalis participating. The Italian colonial army was a mix of Africans including Eritreans, Libyans, and even a few Ethiopians.

Harar was mostly Oromo literally contains Arsi and Hararghe Oromos the Dir are blown out of the water here, Galle e Sidama was not even close to being 5% Somali, and British Somaliland just went into Italian Somaliland (labeled 'Somaliland' in the chart and 'Somalia' in the map)

Haraghe was majority Somali before 1977, Galla and Sidamo provinces contained eastern Bale which was majority Somali.

Harar contains Arsi here, you seem to not know how gargantuan they are- they are equal in number to even all Isaaqs or all Southern Hwy. Galla e Sidamo contains the Gujii Oromo, the Borana Oromo, the Meca Oromo, and aaaal the little tiny Omotic, Nilo-Saharan, Cushitic, and Ethio-Semite groups in the South West.
