Manslaughter case that lead to Konfur Galbeed man's death resolved

recently a South West State man was killed in Caabudwaaq, it was manslaughter and the perpetrator comes from the dominant local community of Caabudwaaq, the perp was not only captured by his own community but handed over to the SWS community in chains, following the age old Somali tradition.

This is what all Somalis must do, if you are from dominant community or not, any perpetrator for any crime should be dealt with equally.

All Somalis are capable of this, the entire process happened within days, community captures him, hands him over to local authority, who then carry out the customary ruling. At any stage someone could be clannist and be an obstacle but the good will of the community triumphed in this case.

This man faced the death penalty but the KG community elders forgave him and accepted compensation instead.

Personally I am all for death penalty as I know it will be a huge deterrent for crime, but I recognize that forgiveness is much better healer, and promotes isdhexgal and wadanoolansho. So kudos to the KG community.
