Lets be honest defeated by who? While the region is facing shortage of manpower and have to recruit child soilders perse.
Secondly AS are mobile if they havent been defeated in Xamar what makes Gedo so special that they cant fight there while the terrain suits them.Last time in Cel cade they killed 100s of KDF soilders.
They enjoy much more local support in Xamar than Gedo region. They still have men and capabilities in Gedo but they are driven to mountainous area and rest of them blends in with the locals. But in middle jubba the whole region is under alshabab and this is great help to those hiding in Gedo.
