when i had it tasted sweet i don't remember it making my tongue white. You are probably talking about a different fruit.

If it tasted good that was 'Gob' @Espaa_ is correct, the mareer is known for its bitter and gluey taste. And I believe that its name originated from its taste.

No, I wasn't talking about the fruit in the video. I was informing @Saxiix about the fruit he was describing. He said that mareer tastes sweet and that's not true about the mareer, that's all.
And by the way, I never heard of this fruit you mentioned, first time hearing.

You mean the dhafaruur? from its appearance, it really do seems appetising. Seems is kind of fruit that grow in Somalia only.
Ah and now I can see too that @Saxiix ate this fruit and he thought it was the Mareer perhaps.
