I read an article some moons ago, which suggested the entire country is seated upon a large body of water, and in time, I think it was suggested in the next 100 years or so, will submerge. A good example was hearing locals in Sool, Nugaal, and Mudug, speaking of more noticeable 'ila biyeed - sources of water' in the countryside, even in some cities, which never existed, which would explain, for the said regions, are of 'dhoodi', not all but most, with salty water on the surface, with more than their share of 'Barde', and 'Gob' trees. it was suggested one could easily get to salty water in few metres, but has to dig just under 100 metres for clear water, in many regions. If you study hydrology, both "gob" and berde indicate water table being closer by. That means if you dig well in the same area they grow, you will reach water.
