Ajuran was a territory controlled by Ajuran people. It was just called dhulka Somaliyeed, there was no country just loads of independent states and kingdoms.

'Malagasy' derives from 'Madagascar' which in turn comes from 'Mogadishu'.

They didn't see themselves as one group until recently. They have different tribes there, like the Merina, Betsileo etc.
