Western Europe was Catholic until the 16th century schisms. Divorce was against the teachings of the Church.
You are right Islam allows divorce hence it was more common. However, other MENA and South Asian societies are much more strict about it than we ever were. Those Westerners I referenced had travelled through MENA territories as well, bear that in mind.
Who talked about inheritance? That is religiously decreed, no debate. Was just pointing out the fact that Ajnabis with Somali mothers are not Somali, Full Stop! I just dislike women who act all defensive when they marry out by stating they teach their kids Somali Dhaqan etc. Naa Cida Doontid Guurso! Just don't make your kids out to be what they are not.

These Westerners also talked about the high divorce rates in major Arab cities. Cairo in particular would probably make historical Somalis look conservative. I'll find it for you. Asians have always been incredibly strict when it comes to divorce and they're also less polygamous as a society so they take the one wife for life idea seriously, compared to historical Arabs and Somalis.
All women do that. I've seen half Moroccan kids with a Moroccan mum going to Morocco yearly. In their country their women can even give citizenship to their children which might play a role as to why they're open minded.
