I should have made this post yesterday
Tomorrow is the 10th day of muxarram meaning it is caashuuraa, it is an important day for fasting as hadith says
It is notable as the day when Allaah split the red sea for Muuse and beni Israa'iil to escape fircoon, and other auspicious moments occured on this day However the yahuud also recognised the importance of the day and took it as a yawmul ciid. Therefore we fast an extra day to distinguish ourselfs from ahlul kitaab
It is favourable to pick the 9th of muxarram over the 11th as a extra day as seen in this hadiith

Ibn Abbas was asked about observing of fast on the day of Ashura, whereupon he said: I do not know Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ) singling out any day's fast and considering it more excellent than another, except this day (the day of Ashura) and this month, meaning the month of Ramadan. Narrated by muslim

This year 9th of muxarram falls on a friday which it is usually forbidden to single out fast on this day without joining a day before or after or if a different habitual fast occurs, for example if caashuuraa falls on a friday then your intention is made not to fast on a friday but to fast on caashuuraa. Which is why i was gonna make this yesterday because today is slightly the better day to fast with caashuura than sunday. If you are munching bariis whilst reading this however ha ku cabsin you can still fast sunday. And if caashuuraa was today i would slap the bariis out your mouthIbn 'Abbas reported that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fasted on the day of 'Ashura and commanded that it should he observed as a fast, they (his Companions) said to him: Messenger of Allah, it is a day which the Jews and Christians hold in high esteem. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When the next year comes, God willing, we would observe fast on the 9th But the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died before the advent of the next year. Narrated Ar-Rubi' bint Mu'awadh: "The Prophet (ﷺ) sent a messenger to the village of the Ansar in the morning of the day of 'Ashura' (10th of Muharram) to announce: 'Whoever has eaten something should not eat but complete the fast, and whoever is observing the fast should complete it.' "She further said, "Since then we used to fast on that day regularly and also make our boys fast. We used to make toys of wool for the boys and if anyone of them cried for, he was given those toys till it was the time of the breaking of the fast."
