Ive thought about going to Hargeisa cleaning up some areas

And seeing people already volunteering cleaning up roads like this is great in My opinion this Will lead to more people joining in

Great work from all the volunteers mashallah !

This is the job of Hargeisa local government or the road authority. Its telling that private citizens are doing this job, when the local govt has recently been accused of corruption. It's good that the young people are being proactive as being a volunteer has enormous social benefits. But sustainable projects with measurable outcomes are needed, ideally managed by experts.

Recently the new young minister of justice traveled from west to east Somaliland visiting prisons and prisoners, he gave them dates and duvets and stuff during his monitoring visit. While this is very positive, prisons and the SL criminal justice system also needs reform. That is the job of the minister. Not to distribute dates for a photo opportunity.

We concentrate on short term solutions when the bigger issues need to be tackled.

In my opinion A lot of people in government lack vision they just in it for a pay check nobody got a vision of what they want to achieve or change in the near future like 3-5 years Down the line

And whats the point of people paying taxes if roads arent built?

They should focus on the roads on various neighbourhoods that are filled with rocks the most Ive seen firefighters and people begging on media that they need the roads fixed

The firefighters cant do their job if the road to the house is filled with rocks By the time they reach it its already past saving so many houses and bussineses/shops have been burned Down and firefighters have no chance to reach it in time

The goverment need to step up and take their role seriously theres only so much the community can do

Bilaa camal dheh. These people should focus on finding solutions for other more important issues like the droughts, water shortage etc. "Meel baan boodh ka soo yara jafayaa, oo rinji uula tagayaa" shaqo ma'aha.
We should do more productive stuff like growing food, planting stuff, fishing, making our own shoes, clothes, furnitures etc. instead of importing useless stuff from other countries.
Ardaydii wax baratay meeye? Why aren't they putting the shit they learned into practice? "Dowladaan shaqo ka sugayaa ama badweynta ayaan isku tuurayaa" xal ma'aha. Last time I went back to the country, I was disappointed with the amount of youth oo meelahaa iska soo fadhfadhiyey. War dadyahow sidan si isu dhamaa.

Guys this is outstanding. This is how civilization and transformation begins. Years, and Years ago after coming to the West, i suddenly had an epiphany about how the west White people were different from Africans. I shared my opinions that Africans have no personal accountability. They dont believe this earth is ours to protect. They are too busy praising Jesus or Saying Alhamdhulilaah, that they cant see their mama has Dhiif on her nose and offer her a handkerchief or something!. Nothing Wrong with thanking God and praising Jesus, but u gotta get up from your behind and do something about it. I gave an example of a black man will eat a banana and throw it on the ground, wipe his hands on his pants, while a white man will hold on to his trash until he can properly dispose it. That's the difference. It is so amazing now to see Somalis take personal responsibilities like this. Walaahi i attribute this change to being exposed to the West. Its like sheeps taken to a far land and then going back ....sticking their Suuro nose on the sheep of their home town, coming up with New positive changes that will transform a community! Mashalaah!

I still believe these kinda stuff is good for the people the cleaner it Will be the more people Will engage and help

If were gonna grow food than we need to stop importing food cause people back home would rather buy imported crap thats worse state than our food thats more fresh and locally produced since nobody is buying this discourages farmers from farming

What the government should do is BAN all imported food that we already are producent in the country and anything else thats imported should have a big taxation fee that Will make it non profitable for whoever is importing

By the way more should stop waiting for the government to give them Jobs etc

Ive seen the youth back home they would rather wear a suit and sit around in a café with their friends than to work as a waiter or construction just anything is better than sitting around waiting for the government handing you a job
