It varies, most maghrebi arabs are between 10-30 Arabian, especially in the plains of the maghreb and the sahara. I mean arabic itself is said to have originated in the levant rather than the arabian peninsular.

Actually they did have contact, carthage for example. A lot of the amazigh populations became punic in culture and worshipped it's gods.
