The sudanese and egyptians are more arab than them the arab genes start getting weaker from libya and tunisia and it becomes more berber.
We accepted Islam, and proclaimed our ancestors were close relatives of Muhammad PBUH to garner prestige, we kept our language, most of our culture etc Islam was spread by our priestly class the Wadaads, not by foreign peoples, perhaps that's why we haven't lost our roots.
