almost every atheist I come across online ends up being some boring fence sitting fucker, no real convictions whatsoever. completely dull personalities. at the very most it's a combative edgelord phase straight after apostasy that goes away after a short time and then it's complacency
atheism just sucks the spirit out of formerly religious people, this doesn't really happen with people who were secular their whole lives. it's even worse with muslims.
Those are the open atheists/agnostics.
I find the polished, successful Somalis are disproportionately closeted/low-key atheists/agnostics.
canadian somalis in general seem very 'unmosqued'. i'd say they are the most culturally assimilated somalis in the west, anglo-canadian culture is very thin, it's handles foreigners even better than america which has a similar thin culture.
this can also go both ways, somalis aren't as hated there as we are in UK, europe and MN even though they have the most notoriously criminal diaspora. they are seen as 'cool' by other canadians even. they will pick up small cultural quirks and slang
