The official line of Somalia is Somaliland is part of Somalia and a referendum on Somalilands status is not in the question. Somaliland would then have to have representation in the Somalia government so their MPs are picked by Somalilanders who have moved to Mogadishu. The problem here is these MPs make up a large share of the MPs in Somalia and can have a huge effect on politics in Somalia. They’ve chosen to make a deal with Raxanweyn .5 and gedo. This alliance would make them majority of the parliament and can pick not only the president but the prime minister and speakers of both houses completely alienating Hawiye Puntland and the raskambooi brigade to a minority with no power in the federal government. Xawaadle will most likely be made speaker of the parliament since abgaal took hirshabelle. The argument against this is Somaliland MPs can’t go to their home so why should they have any agency.
