LIVE from KL Malaysia

Near Chinatown

@Grigori Rasputin

That’s not far from Bukit Bintang, you could walk there. Walk around Bukit Bintang Rd, you will meet many local Somalis on the street or in the kebab shops (the other side of the Pavillion Mall). That’s the entertainment centre of KL. On your way back to the hotel to Chinatown from this Rd, turn into a little street called Changkat, there are bars and restaurants and that’s where you will find most of the western tourists. On that street, visit Havana Bar & Grill, they have a good Malaysian reggae band on Sundays. If you fancy garoobs and uni students, go to Cheras, that’s where many of the Somalis live.

Go to Jalan Alor street in Bukit Bintang, the whole street becomes an all night restaurants.

Yes! Jalan Alor is where I intend to go ASAP

Dude! There’s this Somali guy that markets himself on SC as the to go guy as a tour guide. I spoken to him and I discovered dude charges exuberant amount. I done told him “I know what’m doing”.

Why would I pay for a tour guide when I already did my research.

Sorry Sxb, I couldn’t help you there because we never used a tour guy, we just rented a car and went wherever we wanted to visit. Where do you want to tour? If it’s in KL, a taxi plus the public transport (trains) is much cheaper. Dumarka cuslaadey miyuu ku barayaa?

I wasn’t gonna have a tour. That’s against my frugal nature.

Dude this place is super cheap. I just hop on the bus or hail a grab (uber-type) car. Grab is so cheap manne. It’s like $4 for a long haul.

Grab is very cheap with friendly drivers and no need for a tour ride. Have you been to the caves? Waryaa enjoy your trip and don’t mess with the young Somali girls studying there. They can’t resist the idea of a Yankee passport, don’t exploit them.

My intention is not to mislead or exploit Xaliimos here. Besides, they’re too far away. The Somali neighborhood I figured is 13 miles away. I don’t have any intention of heading out there. However, I do have one that we linking up tonight. This one knows the deal. I promised nothing. I done told her I’m here for my own adventure. I’ve had her on my social media for couple of years. I figured that it would be nice to see this person in real life.
