It is a courtesy call, and is not late till an hour prior to the time. Just shoot them an email to the effect that you are withdrawing your interest for the post. Or leave a voice message.

You may find yourself desiring the same post in a year, or so, with your CV arriving at the desk of the same HR specialist, or hiring manger. Imagine that. They will toss it into the bin sans a second glance.

I have interviewed many candidates, and always appreciate the ones, who notify me in advance, and withdraw, even if an hour prior to the time slot, and hardly ever forget those, who disappear, for it speaks lack of professionalism on their part.

Just a thought.
