But just hours later, the newspaper was left red-faced when it was revealed that the reporter who unearthed King's offensive tweets had also reportedly written some damning social media posts of his own.
Several Twitter users shared screenshots that appeared to show the Des Moines Register reporter, Aaron Calvin, making homophobic and racist remarks
