Dear International community
I am writing as a concerned Somali from Mogadishu. Ex-president Farmajoo has caused us much harm. During his four years he has killed many people from the Hawiye clan. He has used explosions/bombs/assassinations to instill fear and kill hundreds of innocent people, he has assassinated many figures and he has refused us the right to hold demonstrations. He has arrested journalist and closed all the roads in Mogadishu.
He has rigged elections in Galmudug, Hiirshebelle and instated a puppet PM. He has taken over the expired lower Somali parliament and its speaker. He as assembled an army of minority Somali clans as his hardcore supporters who incite violence against members of the Hawiye clan. At this moment we have no real representation other than figures like Hassan, Shariff, Abdirahman and Mahad Salaad. He still continues to try and Gerrymander the Somali elections.
At the end of his term he attempted to murder two ex-presidents (Hassan & Shariff) and one ex-PM (Kheyre) from the Hawiye clan. We the people of Mogadishu rose up. We had enough of his killings and terror. We picked up our guns to defend our leaders and ourselves. Luckily we were successful and managed to capture much of the capital. The army has supported us because they too refused his illegal 2 year extension.
Dear international community we refuse to give any chance to Farmajoo because he is a dangerous person. He has killed in the past and will continue to do so in the future unless stop. We only have with us our arms and our will to live. You have a duty of care to help us to protect our lives, property and dignity from Farmajoo and his Merehan militia.
He has shown to be a dangerous man intent on killing and displacing the people of Mogadishu and beyond. We ask you to investigate crimes committed and start new peace talks involving our own leaders in Mogadishu. We want AMISOM and to be in charge of security and we want the international community to lead the peace talks.
We refuse to sit with Farmajoo and refuse to risk our safety to such a dangerous man. We ask you to put sanctions of Somalia and to withhold any recognition and support to Roble's admin. PM Roble does not represent us, he was selected by Farmajoo. His mandate is over just like Farmajoo.
We ask the international community to disarm Farmajoo's Merehan militias and AMISOM to no longer give him security . Somalia is 4.5, having a armed Merehan junta in a predominately Hawiye city is a recipe for disaster.
We want DEMOCRACY, our right to life and safety and will continue to hold our arms until Farmajoo is removed. We are willing to work with the ineternational community and AMISOM to de-escalate the situation. And we stress that we are not in conflict with the international community, the UN or AMISOM. We only seek to the right to life and safety for ourselves against Farmajoo's attempts against our lives.
