Let’s think clearly here

Again they won’t leave just because you told them. Ethiopia & Kenya have admitted this many times over the last decade. Nobody takes your govt seriously because you don’t even take yourselves seriously. You want to declare war on Ethiopia when their troops aren’t that far Xamar and ridicule SL for signing a mutually beneficial agreement with clear terms on how long the lease will be.
Just answer me why does Ethiopia need a naval base? Do you really think they'll back their stuff and leave after 50 years? Did Russia leave their naval base in Crimea when Ukraine asked them to leave? Just be rational for a moment.

If you notice during the deal announcement there was only one flag present in the meeting room, this tells me Ethiopia doesn't consider SL to be an independent country, they're probably saying we'll recognize you to manipulate the puplic opinion.
That’s a good point. I don’t think independence has a real chance either. SL is at its weakest point. The time where they could’ve gotten independence was between 1991-2012. Now that Somalia has recognized government and has been making improvements, the case for secession is weak

I think Ethiopia will dangle recognition in front of SL the same way the west does it to the Kurds in the Middle East. Give them false promises to get them to do what you want without actually recognizing their independence

The IC is anti-secessionist. Look at what South Sudan had to go through before it got its independence. The IC did everything it could to keep Sudan together before they finally let go

Secessionism is like opening Pandora’s box. They’re afraid that if you let one movement secede, that other movements will get inspired and push for their own independence. It’s like during the colonial era where all the colonies started to demand independence after they say other colonies get their independence

We should work on fragmenting Ethiopia, shit hole is unstable as f*ck as it is.. I remember during siad barre we fragmented Ethiopia into two countries, the Eritrean opposition got financed and suported by Somalia as well as the meles zenawi tplf rebels.. Actually I'm happy Ethiopia blatantly announced their plans to annaxe Somali sovereign national territories this is gonna unite us all even more across all somali clan lines.

We should but unfortunately we don’t have the resources to really arm any of their opposition movements. The only way we could hurt their government would be if we block this deal

Ethiopia is at its weakest point in years. It’s battling several ethnic conflicts while it can’t pay back its debts. This quest to have a port is Abiy’s last ditch effort to save the country. If this fails then every armed group will turn on the government

The government tried to stop the original deal that built the Berbera port but was unable too. I think this is different because that deal only established a port. This new deal is potentially bringing a military presence. The IC still sees SL as apart of Somalia and I can see many countries siding with Somalia out of principle. Nobody would accept if a breakaway region invites a foreign military to build a base
