But to answer your question. It’s true. Somalis even have different accents/voices from other Cushitic speakers like the afars and Oromos. I honestly don’t know why this is. I’ve always wondered why.

I’m Eritrean so i’m acquainted with a lot of Somalis. I think as people in the diaspora we have a lot of similarities so naturally I gravitated to Somali forums/twitter etc. since Eritrea is too small of a nation to have a significant online community
