That three marks on the necks of the camels means a symbol (owned by a certain sub clan) in Somalia each sub clan's camels have markers to distinguish their camels from others.
 
These creatures are turning our land into a desert. Either manage and restrict their grazing ot certain regions or we cut down on nomadic lifestyles.

Nah. The recurring abaars is due to lack of trees and global warming. Camels don't cut down trees nomads do for charcoal.

Yes but they add to the issue. Study water run off and soil damage that is caused by camels and goats over grazing.

Somalis always had camels since the dawn of time however what accelerated the degeneration of the environment is over population (both human and livestock) + lack of planning and cutting down trees. So it is not a simple black and white issue. There is many factors involved in it.
