The Spurs were leading the Nets 84-83 with 6 minutes left in the game. In a sequence that affirmed that talent absolutely wins, James Harden and Kyrie Irving hit threes and find open teammates to cap a 14-2 run that gives them a 97-86 lead. In between Harden and Irving hitting clutch shots, Spurs role players were bricking uncontested midrange shots.

It appeared Kyrie and Harden took a few possessions off end allowed the Spurs to go on a 10-0 run to send the game to overtime. I could literally see Kyrie look at the camera and mouth “I’m done with this BS”. At the start of the overtime, Kyrie hits two threes and assists on another to give the Nets an 11-point lead. The Nets easily won it 114-103

The referees bestowed undue deference upon the Nets on several occasions. DeAndre Jordan slapped the ball out of bounds twice and the refs automatically ruled it Nets ball. During the tip off in OT, DeAndre Jordan tapped it out of bounds and the referees bafflingly ruled that the Spurs Poeltl was the last to touch base it. It got so bad the Nets commentators were on the refs

People always say talent wins and good offense trumps good defence and this was a perfect example of both. It was such a stark contrast between DeJounte Murray’s missed layups and James Garden’s effortless clutch floaters. This team will absolutely win a title.
