Propaganda is a hell of a drug. Ethiopia is practically worshipped due to supposedly being anti-colonial despite the fact that Ethiopia's emperors not only were engaging in imperialism themselves, but also didn't give a shit about other Africans being colonized. In fact, Menelik II was furious when he heard Europeans started making deals with local Somali sultans because he wanted northern Somalia all for himself lol.
