I think its mainly political move from uhuru locking up votes from the indian community for next months elections in kenya which expected to be a tight race.

A smart political move, why not integrate them now then later on ? The Caribbeans have a lot of indians (full blooded, mixed) and they have fully integrated into those countries. As long As Kenya shows who's boss it wont mean anything.

I used to work with aTanzanian Asian fellow once .He told me felt he completely African and could not care if they dropped a bomb ion Pakistan or India . He said he wanted to tick African on forms but didn't do so because I would looked when he turned up for interviews. He said he liked Somalis but didn't understand why they were arrogant

The number of Indians living in the country is not enough to make a big dent in the forthcoming election. This is purely based on money . The Indians gave money to Kenyatta, that's all there is to it.

Its enough to help Uhuru win the elections which he needs these votes badly. The opposition has the momentum right now so of course hes going to pull something desperate like this. Kenyan elections are fought primarily along ethnic/tribal lines, so this mean smaller non-aligned blocs that move between the two major coalitions are valuable.

I think Indians in Africa should be treated just like Africans in India are treated.
