The 1980s war between Isaaq & Ogadeen was sponsored and sanctioned by this regime to create animosity between this neighbourly qabils.
It was a sad period in time.

Because the only way a langaab regime would survive is to pit clans against each other.
It was later after Col Axmed Cumar Jess made truce with his abtie Cabdiraxman Tuur which ended the war and it was the beginning of the fall of the dictator in Villa Somalia.

See CumarJees precient words about Afweyne undermining the 1991 revolution and turning it i to Irir vs Jabarti civil war so he could divide and rule

That’s not ethnic violence it’s clan violence. Both those clans are the same ethnicity

Its semantics I think the point is about how Afweyne tried to maintain power which is true whether Isaaq and OG are same ethnicity.

What a joke, blaming someone else because two qabil fought each other. Did Siyaad force them to fight?

There is a difference between two qabils fighting and a state sponsored conflict between two qabils.
That is the only way a langaab qabil like il.koyar could stay in power.

Kacanka regime was evil.
That is why it went to the gutters.

Kacaanka regime ended in 1991. We are almost in 2021. Are you going to blame Siyaad for everything that happened after? If siyaad was thr one encouraging tribes to fight amongst themselves why did they continue to slaughter each other for 30 years after Siyaad left power?

It's freaking 2020, and y'all still blaming Siyaad Barre? Somalis are backwards Walaahi. Dhalinyarda are no different than shaah drinking qabilst fadhi kudirir. war solutions baa loo baahanahay.

Of course Siad Barre is to blame for the destruction which ensued following his divisive rule. Somalis after Barre's rule are not the same as pre Barre Somalis. He pitted and armed neighbouring clans against each other, monopolised state resources for the benefit of his small clan and bankrupted the country economically through mismanagement and foolish wars.

Similarly, Saddam Hussein is to blame for all the destruction and divisive politics of modern day Iraq. Saddam came to power into a powerful Iraq, united, rich in resources and human capital, and with one of the most powerful armies in the region. And he left a bitter, divided and destroyed shell of the country upon his defeat.

Both Afweyne and Saddam irreparably destroyed their respective countries. Perhaps the only difference is that Saddam chose to stay in his land and fight till the end in sharp contrast to Siad Barre who was a coward choosing to die a refugee in Nigeria.

Only solution is Balkanization, however you are right, cant blame him for what happened after he got deposed. Its 99% interahmwe USC fault what happened after he fled.

 Siyad Baare made us turn it to Hawiye vs Darood after he left, than Hawiye Vs Hawiye. Also made us loot everything from the statues to copper wires. I have heard people say that.

Hey brother, don’t take things too serious here. People are sometimes bored and might say stuff to keep the fadhi kudirir going. We all want to see our country and people doing good in the end :)

isaaqs established a military base and a custom in tukaraq. 30 miles west of garowe village.
Let me guess it’s siad berre and USC’s fault right???

He escaped to nigeria probably become a nollywood acter.

What xiniyo a guy that ran away from what he created?
You cant mess up a country then even ran away from your qabil deegan.

Why did he escape to Mandeera? He should at least died bele8ving in his doctrines like a man and fight.
Not die like a refugee in Nigeria.

Yeah sure. Siad Barre forced Hawiye to kill each other for futile motives instead of moving on and forming a stable governement.
Always blaming others, this is the problem of our people
