Just Arrived in Hargeisa

Was getting bored of jigjiga and so i took a trip to Hargeisa. It only took around 3.5 hours, here are my first impressions:

1. Hargeisa is ALOT larger then jigjiga but it is a lot less dense then jigjiga. In jigjiga you will see a constant flow of people in the city centre but in Hargeisa it seems comparatively empty.
2. The land on my way to Hargeisa was beutiful.
3. The internet is 100X better then jigjiga
4. It feels great seeing ONLY Somalis compared to JigJiga. The latter's major institutions are filled with non-somalis.
5. Alot less Tuk-Tuks compared to jigjia which is a shame as it seems like it's harder to get anywhere
6. public infrastructure is more distributed compared to jigjiga.
7. City planning is worse then jigjiga.
8. Alot more advanced products in the city.
9. Less beggars in the streets.

Also, the checkpoints constantly check if you are trafficking Oromos. Seems like a great city , will be fun exploring.

Hargeisa is a big city. Wait till it is night, that's when people come out. Despite being s big city, it has a reer badiye aura

It's weird, I have noticed that Somalis generally come out at maghrib time. JigJiga looked like 30% habashi until the night time.

Mainly Amharic, it feels like an occupation in jigjiga.
I see, I've been hearing Amhara and Oromo settlements in the Somali region and it is not good as if the flow continues and they become a larger chunk of the population any justification/idea of it joining Somalia would have backlash from them living there they need to be kicked out in large numbers

Was there a lot as in a noticeable presence?

Whole neighbourhoods in jigjiga speak Amharic. I think the demographics is a lot worse then people will say.

Granted most of them are here for work. You won't find them as soon as you leave the cities.

which neighborhood did you stay in jigjiga? Also , you are comparing to cities that are no where near the same size.
