And it have stirred controversy nationwide, you have people divided , there are fractions of endorsement and I actually saw one of them today , groups of university students supporting the motion to be implemented , they came to our stores and gave leaflets to every Somali women that walked by ,
let's say they didn't last well here , neither the neighbouring district and their final march to the CBD was unsuccessful, they received black eye and police had to escort them.
Those students were mostly male and from diverse groups of people and some had extreme feminist ideals alot of them , judging from the pitch of their tone sounded very emasculate .

Remember this , the members of public have a deadline until June , God knows who the Speaker is currently siding with , until then this mayhem continues.
We have either sides expressing their views.

I would say the whites especially the Afrikaners were bursting with outrage , the whites of English origins were open minded about women having multiple husbands. The Indians didn't participate and stood neutral , it was the coloureds, significant numbers of madows that were throwing tantrums, and funny debates.

Ganief Hendricks a Muslim coloured , MP politician and leader of Al Jama-ah party argued with a notorious Zulu politicians that were supportive.

“You can imagine when a child is born more DNA tests will be needed to discover who the father is. The problem is only going to get worse,”

Meanwhile Natasha Mazzone broke down infront of parliament and labelled him a misogynist (btw she's of English ancestry)
She referred his words to be unethic and extremely insulting to women and suggested he should be examined by the parliamentary ethics committee.
The entire shit was fucking funny tbh
She further added
“In this day and age, in the year 2021, to think a public representative of this country would dare stand up in the parliament of SA and say something like that is an absolute disgrace. I want it referred to the ethics committee, and may I say that the only woman in this country who would possibly feel that way is his wife,” she said.
It even got worse when this religious nutcase entered , people were already booing him
Kenneth Meshoe from the African Christian Democratic Party , is one funny pastor
and the crowds were getting loud, some MPs even left
He said there would be a conflict if a woman was “shared” by three men and they all wanted her on the same night.
As he was speaking , his time to discuss were cut short.
The speaker interupted it was that obvious
he wanted to mute , he kept saying " honerable member ....., honerable member ...., honerable member...., relinquish from the microphone, you words are inappropriate , that is enough"

Meshoe replied " No , no , no, don't you dare disrupt my speech while I'm addressing ,
how can I call you an honerable speaker when all you do is sit on your chair and shake your behind with that white demon discussing this absurdity , this is not a debate but a national disgrace, you are what is wrong with this country , tolerating such immorality and letting to manifest"
he then does the holy cross gesture , scratching his head and looks at the white woman
He added “When a man would want to have his wife that night, and the other men also want to have her, what are you going to do? What is she going to do? That might lead to those men confronting each other. Men are jealous,”

He was removed , but had many supports on twitter

Meanwhile the president of the SA National Christian Forum, Bishop Marothi Mashashane, said the proposal was “a disgrace and mockery to both our religion and our African cultures”.

“According to the Bible, which we believe in, polyandry is considered sexual immorality, like the marriage between people of the same sex, and we shall by no means bless such a relationship as a marriage.”

Although many politicians are divided ,

Some famous celebrities and influencers are open minded especially feminists
Even Jacob zuma who has four wives was seen to be agreeing.

The polls on Social media are different 43% are open minded meanwhile 39% say it is un african.

We have until the end of this month to see what happens.

Let's talk about the origins.

The legality of polygamy and polyandry varies from one country to another in Africa. But as polygamy has always been more prevalent than polyandry for centuries in the African continent, the former concept is still practiced in various parts of the countries like Algeria, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, The Gambia, Guinea, Libya, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Togo, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. These types of marriages (mainly polygamy) have always been prevalent in the history of Africa and reached the acme with the spread of Islam. For example, all the northern states in Nigeria governed by the Islamic Sharia law legalize or recognize polygamous marriages. Same with the autonomous regions of Somaliland and Puntland , Somalia as they are compatible with Sharia law.
Basically the activities of the opposite is nonexistent.
We Somalis should not worry or be panicking.

After the downfall of the colonial era in Africa, the polygamy was started being gradually perceived as a taboo. Still, countries such as Kenya and South Africa are highly known for these kinds of marriages. In Gabon, both women and men are allowed to have more than one spouse, although only men typically follow the practice of keeping multiple wives. Before contracting a marriage, the couple must state whether they intend to pursue a polygamous relationship in the future. Men may later retract their decision and opt for polygamy if they desire, but women do not have this option. On average, 33 percent of women in Nigeria reported that their husbands have more than one wife. In Senegal, there is almost 47 percent of the marriages where they feature more than one woman.
Polyandry, on the other hand, was quite common in the Lake Region of Central Africa instead of polygamy. The Maasai (a Nilotic ethnic group inhabiting northern, central and southern Kenya and northern Tanzania) are traditionally polygynous. But this practice is much restricted in those places as people have already denounced it. In the African countries such as Kenya, where polyandry is not forbidden, two (Kenyan) men created headlines in August 2013 by entering into an agreement to marry a woman with whom they both had been having an affair. On the other hand, the practice of keeping more than one husband by a woman is still practiced among the Lele people in the D R Congo. They call it "hohombe", or "ngalababola", which means "wife of the village". One out of 10 or so among the Lele women becomes a "wife of the village" and the rest are mostly in the practice of polyandry. Young girls tended to be betrothed to older men and the younger men, who wait for their own betrothed brides to reach to become teens, request the village elders that they should get a common wife, who can be shared by all the men in a given age group. This woman who starts living with more than one man gets to know as a "wife of the village".

It is said that polygamy and polyandry practitioners are susceptible to STDs

Some dogmatic believers may argue that polygamy is also a way to prevent men from adopting random sexual partners and potentially introducing sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) like HIV/AIDS, gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, genital herpes, HPVs, etc. But it has been observed in several cases that the chances of spreading STDs instead become higher in the polygamous relationship due to lack of right medical tests before marriages. On the other hand, polyandry practice, which is mainly restricted among the Lele people in the D R Congo including some parts of South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, etc. increase the higher chances of introducing STDs for having sexual relations with multiple men.

Remember that feminist are keen to implement this , to balance out the gender equality which in my opinion is absurd

Like I said earlier, it doesn't affect us Somalis but nonetheless this is crazy.
However where it originated is still in question but the first practicioners of
polyandry is prevalent in parts of North India by Paharis in the Jaunsarbawar region while in Kinnaur, Himachalsince the ancient times , a minority of the people justify and practiced polyandry. As descendants of the Pachi Pandavas (five brothers who were husbands to a woman named Draupadi daughter of King Panchala), they believe they have to carry on the tradition.
Asides them, the Toda tribe of Nilgris, Najanad Vellala of Travancore and some Nair caste Sytems in South India also practice polyandry.
This was happening in centuries.

HaYaaay
Qashin Qub South Africa legalised Polyandry.
For all you mentally challenged cretins this means a female can legally marry at least 2 males.

:faysalwtf::faysalwtf:

all minor signs of Qiyama have been seen
Some major ones too

now we wait for Gog and Magog
first mahdi must come before dajjal and we know a woman can marry a man in islam just like how the prophet wife married him, what's wrong with a xalimo rolling up 2 or 4 farah's

Nah, bro ,
I may have grew up and got accustomed to the life here but still have to navigate and survive as a Somali , I don't envision myself to cement a foreseeable future in South Africa , especially at times like this.

Neither is my future, contemplating that risky journey in the West , my future is elsewhere in Africa.
I'm only hustling , taking good opportunities like the education system which we foreigners take it for granted , it's the few things that are a pro in his country. South African certificates are a goldmine I can live as a king in East Africa honestly until then I am working on that. So I don't return empty handed.

Nothing is permanent in this country , irrespective of how many years you lived.
We all going to leave someday.

And once again sxb , it doesn't affect our lives , South Africa is the only country on the continent in Africa that legalises same sex marriages , yet the majority view it as un african.

There are 61,000 Somalis here and most children go to elementary schools , there are yet no reports of teachers introducing sex education curriculums exposing to young people unlike in western schools ,
It would bring protests and shutdown of the school.

Unlike countries like Britain , USA and Canada bring in transgendered individuals to read children's book in nursery.
And any parent who criticize would be seen as phobic and the public use cancel culture and sometimes their children given the custody to same sex couple foster parents.

Here is not like that , you mind your business and no one cares.

So neither does polyandry affect us.

@Rastavelli-67 Is daji bal, adeero. Your long rants are making it hard for me to scroll down the screen. :draketf:
I got tagged and saw my name in a polyandry thread , It was infuriating to read at first but then I gave what my insights were , which I have explained.

So I will be back to what I normally do , no worries sxb , I understand where you are coming from.

Oh I forgot to add that I write unscrollable paragraphs.

Walaalo, like I said either you’re young or you’re deliberately using the infamous farax logic to get your way regardless it’s validity. If you seriously think women and men are really that different, than lemme reassure you we’re not! If most men find polyandry gross/degenerate than I can guarantee you most women feel the same about polygamy. If you think women don’t have sexual needs when they wake up then again I don’t know what to say to you. I have “morning wood” therefore I can have multiple women and its NOT degenerate & you don’t have visible “morning wood” like me therefore you should not have multiple men and it IS degenerate is an illogical irrational argument. How one can’t see this is seriously beyond me.
So you're saying that women get the female equivalent of "morning wood" when they wake from sleep as men do? :damn::dead::shookgabre: this must be 100% fabrication on your part.

:childplease: It is a scientifically established fact that women and men are on different wavelengths when it comes to carnal urges. There is no point in disputing this, men need s** like they need to breathe but women need s** like they need chocolate goes the saying.

With polygyny, each woman has her own household and the mother of each child is known so there is stability. Polyandry on the other hand is too much fuckery with multiple men in the same household and muddled lineages so it’s forbidden in Islam.
That doesn’t even make sense. Why would multiple men live in the same house if multiple women can have their own household? Lol what’s stopping the men who have multiple incomes from having their own home 😂. Is there some kinda law that says the men must live together lol. Lol also “muddled lineage” happens more often than people realize even in normal or polygamy marriages. And hello dna tests :pachah1:

Anyways the bottom line is the same way you guys think sharing a wife is gross and unnecessary is the same way women feel about sharing a husband. Only men aren’t reserved for this feeling and women exempt. Smh.

@Amirah lets be honest all Males innately consider sharing a female disgusting and would only do it to hit and run.

A high number of Females on the other hand don’t consider sharing a Male as a temporary solution but as a preference.

Prove me wrong and say you wouldn’t mind 2 /3 husbands

Rest my case, can’t argue with you guys if you will resort to all types of invalid excuses, confirmed bias and lies just to justify something this absurd. Normal, logical people would not argue for such ridiculous double standards with a straight face. If either types of polygamous relationships were the norm or biologically beneficial than it would’ve been more widespread. Less than 2% of the world practice it. And almost all the countries that top that list are ofc in Sub-Saharan Africa aka caqli lix saac.

I hate to break it to you, but all races of men are horny fuckers. All of them

Why is that shocking? I guess men having multiple partners means not qiyamah, perfect ideal world miya? But women having the same means the world is ending?? Smh you sound ignorant(I can’t wrap my head around your type of caqli 🤔)and anyways polyandry existed just as long as polygamy has, it’s nothing new. Smh

Polyandry is nasty asl , imagine men sharing the same wife. khaas alaq
