I’m not denying any of that and all those reasons you listed are valid reasons to hate them.

I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy of Somalis. The same Somalis that hate USC/Caydeed are the same ones that love Siyad Barre and try to downplay or justify the atrocities he has done against the Isaaq people in the north and to the Majeerteen people in central Somalia (Mudug) and other clans. If USC/Caydeed was from their respective clans and if he has committed atrocities against clans they don’t like then they would support him or try to downplay his crimes.

So the vast majority of criticisms against USC, Siyad Barre/Kacaan regime or any other criminal group in Somalia is purely motivated by tribal hatred if we are being honost. We should stay consistent and condemn all of them, that’s all i’m asking.

Dumb comparision no? People dont love Siyad for the attrocietes he commited the same way nobody love Saddam hussein for what he did to minorities but bc the country was stable under those 2 dictators.

Every clan when it got power used new established government to secure more grazing land and bully neighbors. In the past we negotiated and came to agreements as equals, but with central government whoever was in charge or allied with new leader used that power to take whatever they wanted not thinking they might lose power one day. This was recipe for rebellion and deep clan hatred. When sharmake died he was causing a lot of fighting in mudug and taking grazing land. Country had peaceful reset with assassination.

Siad Barre should have stepped down or been assasinated right after Ogaden war loss. when he started weakening other state institutions and pitting clans against each other. think we could have had another peaceful reset. Siad after Ogaden war pushed country beyond point of no return due to him being power hungry. HG was probably most savage during civil war but they were hurt most by two successive governments. Now they are in position where same violations can’t be repeated against them which is why they see aideed as hero.
