seems to have too much depth and very little breadth
the author is trying to get the reader to understand something that’s not necessarily shown in the novel - to a certain extent
probably why @Muhammad Bire calls em boring
extremely boring storyline with an unacceptably unnoticeable theme

could possibly by about not forcing things into your interest, and letting things happen naturally?

What is not necessarily shown in the novel? I am curious in your take @a y a n

like a hidden theme or storyline?
its so weird how the author just puts out a bland storyline with nothing else very obvious, so there’s obviously something more than she hid
or she’s a terrible writer

I think u call it bland because the plot story is about marriages. U wanting something strong like the heat of Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights.

Austen was a comedic funny author. She just wanted to pick on characters and make it fun.

Just like I do here with you ALL guys in Somalispot.

BY the way, I watched the Emma adaptation. IT was fantastic. Rich in costume and details. Perfect Characters casting. Good twists.

But too long. But I was not terribly impatient tho. Thanks to Jane Austen writing material, I didn't notice it too much!

nah it just seems basic
if she traveled around the world and did about 73 dumb thing sin the process it would make the plot slightly more interesting
i stand by my point:(

I appreciate your honest opinion. Her novels were based on outsiders, coming into her village and causing problems. She based this experience from her cousin who was raised in france and later married her brother.
