For all my fellow Gen Zs who are all about protein goals, you gotta start thinking about FIBER goals too unless you want increased risk of colon cancer young
I have a hard time eating my fibers, so I try to drink a smoothie that includes a lot of fiber.
A lot of fiber smoothies are high in cals too, so I've looked into foods that are low in cals but high in fiber and tried to make a drinkable smoothie of it.
I call it my FIBER SMOOTHIE BOMB
Current Smoothie (subject to change):
2.5 tsp chia seeds = 10 mg fiber = 150 cals
1/2 cup raspberries = 4 mg fiber = 35 cals
2/3 cup blueberries = 3.6 mg fiber = 55 cals
For sweetness: 1/2 banana = 1.5 mg fiber = 60 cals
1/2 cup of liquid base of your choosing = water, sparkling water, coconut water, coconut milk, oat milk, almond milk, cow milk. I use water and it works well.
Total fiber = 19.1mg fiber
Total calories (if using water as base) = 300 calories
Recommended daily fiber for women is 22-28 mg and men 30 -38 mg.
General ratio reccommended is 14 mg fiber for every 1,000 cals consumed.
