Civilization is made up of cities and towns that stay in one place and is usually based around being able to store food form farming for long periods of time, somali lands, for the most part didn’t really allow for that so therefore most are by definition not civilized. Civilized doesn’t really mean good or bad in the way that people use it today, it’s just mean a society that is advanced through mastery of agriculture, which most Cushitic group didn’t until rather recently
Nomadism isn’t really civilization, idk why people think nomadism is so bad, it’s just what most of Somalia enovirment allowed for, that’s it now they were ancient costal cities, I agree with you there, but for the vast majority of Somalis, afar sand oromos later on, Islam kind of did civilize them, it did the same thing for many cultures cultures across the world, there no shame in admiting that
