You could argue the case that the colonisation of the Somali sultanates in the northern regions of Somalia or we could also call the Horn of Africa by the British in the 19th century and the conflicts that took place and how the British established themselves there as well as later on the Italians colonising the rest of somalia contributed to the demise of the unification of Somalia when looking at it from the bigger picture. also I’m not sure but I think the british also made secret agreements with Ethiopia to take part in conflicts with the Somalis in return for historical lands that were inhabited by Somalis in east Ethiopia.
