We're super conservative where I live. It's not a small town either. We have around 3k Somalis here. There use to be only one girl that didn't wear the hijab (I dated her).

My family are very religious but we all celebrate birthdays. It's like Eid in our house when it's a birthday.

Oh I thought you meant celebrate not throw a house party. I went to a few Somali house parties when I was a teenager and I was disgusted by all the weed and throwing away of the hijab. This generation of Somalis are very different to our patents and grandparents generations.
