It seems like there is a new and well funded propaganda campaign to once again try to break Somalia apart

Several right-wing accounts have started to push a fake SL story out of nowhere, my guess is that the UAE is getting desperate after the recent recognition of North-Eastern State and are trying to once again lobby for SL recognition. They feel that their window is closing to save their multi-billion dollar investments in Berbera and Hargeisa.

Right Wing and Zionist shills that suddenly started tweeting about Somaliland:

Meanwhile, HSM is busy washing Abiy Ahmed's feet while this is going on.

We are gearing towards independence, rightly so.
I'm sure the UAE would love to turn the north into a deadly civil war zone like Sudan to aggressively take control of our key infrastructure but honestly what legitimate claim does SL have to be recognized as a sovereign country aside from the weak "we want to restore the colonial Italian and British Somaliland divide" argument? We are from the same ethnic group with shared ancestory, heritage, traditions, language, religion, ect. What is the differentiating factor?

Kurdistan which actually has a legitimate case for recognition, their own ethnic group, culture, traditions, language, large population about 30+ million Kurds, want to govern themselves, and yet they're still not recognized. What legitimate reason does SL have to be recognized?

Somalis are destroying themselves. The foreigners are just taking advantage of the chaos. No one wants to hear the truth.
Exactly, this bs is destroying us internally and preventing us from moving forward and we're allowing it to happen. We are even fighting each other openly on social media for the world to see how internally broken we are. It's embarrassing as hell. No other ethnic group in the world behaves like we do.

Somalia collapsed and broke apart in 91 officially, but it was disintegrating from the 80s onwards. Yet people still talk as if it is unified and has a government (it doesn’t)
The people are not divided. The corrupt politicians are fighting amongst each other and working against us at the behest of foreign entities (mainly UAE and Ethiopia) to prevent us from moving forward. We are a nation captured from the outside through corruption not divided from within.

The people are divided lol otherwise these politicians wouldn’t have anyone to bank support off. The people support the politicians and bring them to prominence, they campaign and faan for them haha. You show no understanding of Somali political history sxb, my advice is read up a little. Take a look around.

Yeah I know we are ethnically the same and share same language etc but we were always a separate country until we reunited with Somalia. Tbh I don't see the issue if Somaliland gains independence. Somaliland have their own currency passport and government different to Somalia.

These right wing accounts are nothing compared to the past policy driven actions of Ethiopia and America to break up Somalia back in the 90s and 00s. They are powerless compared to real governments.

Somalia's political landscape is very different today, America is no longer interested in meddling with Somalia and Ethiopia has been steadily losing its influence over the country while being in decline itself. The trend in Somalia is gradual momentum towards unity and development.

New piece by another right-wing think tank.

The author might be from Taiwan. His other work mentions Djibouti and the threat to American interests from "adversarial" regimes like Beijing.

why would they when theyre clearly trying to invest in it, unlike sudan where uae wants to keep the current regime in no matter what they only want SL for red sea related affairs
