To me, it seems like a subliminal warning to Iran not to go too far.
Nocturnal Iranian missiles are heading towards Israel.It is in Russia's interest to have a friendly government in Iran rather than a pro US government. Because Iran is located in Russia's soft under belly. If the current Iran government is replaced with a pro US regime, than Russia would be fucked. It would mean one more launching stage for US/NATO against Putin.
Makes you wonder how far he would be willing to go if Iran were pushed to the brink of collapse, a regime change would be a devastating blow he simply cannot afford, especially so soon after Syria.
Haven’t seen any panic statements from him yet, perhaps he has intelligence that the US is slowly chickening out due to the combined political and regional risks the war could trigger.
It would be political suicide for Trump, too, given the large number of his voters who support him primarily because of his anti-war stance and promise to keep America out of Middle Eastern conflicts. Suddenly reversing course and yielding to the warhawks and Netanyahu’s demands would cost him dearly, which likely explains why he’s taking his time with this decision.
If Trump does give in, we’ll find out how much Iran really means to him once the conflict escalates to the point where Israel and the US carpet bomb Iran with regime change in mind.
